At Bizzy Girls, we believe in a holistic approach to educate and empower young girls. Our unique programs teach financial literacy combined with social emotional intelligence. In order to obtain gender equality girls must have the experiences and skills needed to enter the workforce with confidence, whether they choose a corporate or entrepreneurial path. The skills and and experiences that build self confidence have to start at a young age. We educate the whole girl giving her the tools she needs to achieve her entrepreneurial goals now and manage her growing emotional challenges.
In our programs girls go through the process of creating a product and learn business skills related to their projects, from development, to branding to sales. They are also learning goal setting, decision making, collaboration and kindness.
Their desire to be independent and have their own small business is an excellent opportunity to assist them with time and expectation management skills, peer feedback and community engagement with out the fear of criticism. We teach the student to embrace their creativity and develop a growth mindset so they are not afraid to test ideas. They learn that results, whether good or bad, are learning experiences, not reasons for self criticism and discouragement.
We have discovered, working with several thousand tweens and teens over the past few years that their drive to succeed, their overload of information and their desire to please others, causes their daily experiences to be laced with anxiety.Developing a growth mindset helps relieve this pressure.
Results are that girls are gaining self confidence, learning business skills along with social emotional skills and launching successful businesses. They are embracing innovation, they learn to speak up, to make sure their ideas are acknowledged.
These girls will make sure that they create work environments of inclusion, appropriate business behaviors, and due recognition. They will prosper through their self confidence, whether today or tomorrow, and create work environments that will be able to embrace them and benefit from their contributions. Our girls are not only empowering themselves but becoming agents of change for others.
Our teen programs all include education and discussion of workplace expectations, inclusion, appropriate behaviors and measures to take when encountering these issues.

Founder : Bizzy Girls was founded by Deborah Kanafani, a psychotherapist and author in 2014. After spending several years working on women's empowerment in the Middle East and publishing a memoir with Simon and Schuster on her experiences, she began to delve into research on tween and young teen girl behavior in the US. With consistent documentation that girls self confidence begins to decline at age twelve, Deborah began to write a book series and develop programs to empower young girls.
Goals: Bizzy Girls has had over 3000 girls start their own businesses through out southern California and New York. We are embarking on an expansion, making our curriculum available to organizations, afterschool programs, school districts and summer programs. An emphasis will be put on relationships with corporate partners who share our goals and can support our efforts. Our programs reach girls across all socio economic groups, includng title one districts. We believe that inclusion, change, and leadership can most likely grow when a girl's sense of community is expanded through sharing, empathy and learning about each other. We provide platforms for girls to share their stories and their products.
